
Meet the Author
Anne Odendhal is the author of One Girl vs. A Nation Asleep: Awakening the Soul of America. With roots in Maryland, she writes historically grounded narrative nonfiction that explores how family history, cultural memory, and moral imagination shape both private lives and national identity.
She holds a B.A. in English and Education from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, and an M.A. in Religion and Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary. Her studies and travels have taken her across the United States and abroad, including time in Switzerland, where she studied at L’Abri Fellowship.
Anne also writes for young readers and is the creator of the Lightkeeper children’s collection, which explores history, belonging, and character through story. Across her work for adults and children alike, she focuses on truth-seeking, perseverance, and how character is formed across generations.
